Black Barley Wine, Speyside Edition.
We took the Fellowship's first ever beer, and aged it in a Speyside barrel which had previously held Debauchery III.
More vinous and woody than the original, with delicious notes of chocolate & tobacco.
Look out for more later in the year...

Bottle from me subscription. Aroma is vinous, boozy. Underlying tobacco. Not so much black as a muddy dark brown. Short-lived tan head retreats to the rim to form a microbubbled ring. The description on the bottle ain't wrong. Certainly vinous. Boozy. Underlying chocolate and tobacco. A hint of charcoal. Warming. Medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Long astringent finish. Ultimately makes me think of a light barrel-aged Impy Stout rather than a BarleyWine. Would be interesting to taste the original.
