Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of maple syrup and dark fruits, some toffee. Good malt character on the taste. Well balanced flavours.

Tap. Nose is strong maple syrup, caramel, fudge, vanilla. Taste is powerful maple syrup, pear drops, fruity, fudge, brown sugar astringent vodka/booze. It's insanely sweet.

Can ordered from Tap Door on-line. Aroma is sweet and malty. Maple syrup. Bitter edge. Dark brown. Waxy. Thick foamy beige head. Flavourwise we have a bitter boozy streak, as to be expected from the barrel aging. This cuts through the sugary maple syrup. Underlying chunky malts. Light-medium bodied. Creamy if thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Nice enough but the booze somewhat obscures the other elements.
