Murky red/brown, with an impressively tall head that gives way to a nice lacing. The smell is incredibly fruity, with strawberry syrup, or jam, wild strawberries and prunes. As a side-note, the aroma from the bottle is quite different (more fruity and more intense) than the aroma from the glass. Very fruity taste, with strawberries and caramelized sour cherries, prunes, sherry and maple syrup. The mouthfeel is smooth and velvety, and the body is a bit heavy, with a pleasant bitter-sweet aftertaste.

Bottle split on the train to Amsterdam, 27/09/15. Rich amber topped with a decent beige covering. Nose is sweet malt, candied fruit peel, light spice, earthy strokes. Taste comprises rich malt, toffee fudge, dates, fruit cake, light spice, brown sugar. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a tickle of boost.

post Borefts train to Amsterdam. Hazy deep amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy with decent fine carbonation. Tangy caramel malts. Trace of malt cream. Bitterish tea! Mildly bitter dried fruits. Light semi dry finish. Tangy but not bad.
