A classic Brown Ale, dark in colour and low in bitterness. The malt and nutty flavours are to the fore, with a slight clove and lightly bittered finish from First Gold and Goldings British hops. A very drinkable Brown Ale.

[50cl bottle from Home Bargains, Bracknell.] A reddish chestnut pour with a slight haze and a ring of translucent head; earthy malt aroma; rather thin, with a sugary malty body, but a decent hoppy bitterness and a touch of spice in the finish. Not bad.

Bottle from Home Bargain, Blairgowrie. Pours clear brown with a thick white head. Aromas of malt and toffee. Taste has some dried mixed fruit, more toffee. Clean finish. Not bad for the strength.
