Cask at Wenlock Arms. Aroma is full-on maple. Dark. No gloss. Just darkness. Thin foamy off-white head develops a bald spot. Sour berries and coffee. Maple edge but it's not overly intrusive. Coffee. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Ultimately not overly exciting.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 16th April 2024. Rated as a novelty ale. Deep sepia black with pale tan foam and scant lacing. Intense roasty maltiness in aroma with bunt brown sugar. Syrupy burnt roast malt and richly sweet maple in-mouth and a rich and intense coffee and burnt caramel roasty finish. Full bodied with a smooth texture.

Cask at The Green Goddess, Blackheath Royal Standard. Black pour with a tan head. That's a nice nose - can smell it a fair few inches away - lots of maple, toffee, caramel, creamy coffee. Chocolate caramel, brown sugar, vanilla fudge, maple, creamy coffee flavours. Sweet malty tastiness. A very nice brew.
