Keg at the Brazenor's taproom, High Wycombe, 26/10/24. Golden to light amber topped with a lasting white head. Nose is herb, biscuit, grains, toffee, straw. Taste comprises fruit esters, pale malts, toasted grains, caramel wafer, hedgerow, malt well evident. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid crisp clean affair and solid for the style.

Keg at the brewery. Deep gold with a thin white head and a middling fizz. A little white bread and a little grass. Ultra crisp and clean and refreshing - not particularly Vienna-like, but an ideal drink after the steep climb to the brewery from my house. Unfortunately there was a very faint but lasting hint of sulphur and boiled cabbage in the aftertaste which knocked quite a few marks off my score - a shame as this would have been a great lager without that.

Can ordered from the brewery. Aroma is sweet and doughy, with light spice. Opaque amber. Thick foamy white head. Citrusy. Spice. Light-medium metallic bitterness. Biscuity doughiness adds peripheral softness. Light. Thin. Lifted by soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Enjoyable soft yet crisp first beer tick for this new brewery.
