The trick to creating a high ABV 1990s dinner party stout is the double mash. While performing these two very dark mashes, our minds were instantly cast to the darkness behind Neil McCailey (Robert De Niro) and Lt. Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino) in the LA crime classic Heat.

Can via the brewery subscription. Aroma has rich toffee and vanilla with a dark chocolate edge. Dark and glossy. Thin tan head shrinks quickly. Initial toffee and vanilla sweetness is soon elbowed aside by dark chocolate bitterness. That burnt sugar toffee and vanilla are in throughout. Slight berry edge. Thick bodied. Oily. Flat carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. Yummer. Luxury stuff mate.

Can at home, 6th January 24. Pours a thick black stout. Aroma is chocolate, toffee, vanilla, liquorice. Taste is rich, chocolate and toffee, liquorice, sweet, but balanced and some bitterness in the finish with roasted malts. Incredible stout

440ml can which I didn't plan on drinking right now but have to because I've accidentally pierced the can and sprayed stout all over the place. Fuck's sake. Pours black with a dark brown head. Aroma of rich and sweet chocolate, toffee, vanilla. Taste is the same, very rich, very sweet, mountains of chocolate, toffee and vanilla, just a little roasty dark malt bitterness at the end. Full bodied, thick, creamy smooth. Phenomenal stuff.
