A premium strength European IPA brewed from pale, wheat and a small quantity of German beech-smoked malt. The smoked malt imparts a subtle but distinctive aroma, which does not overpower the hops. Bitterness is moderate, but generous quantities of Styrian Dragon hops added at three stages of the brewing process and then as a dry hop result in a particularly aromatic IPA with citrus, herbal and tropical fruit characteristics to the fore.

Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate to light sweet and bitter, with a smooth, malt, light juicy citrus, dry smoky, floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at The Wellington, Brum. Aroma has light fruit alongside sl8ghtly less light resin. 8nitial stone fruit, before a resinous streak comes into play. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat-soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Nice enough if unexciting.
