Hits all the classic barleywine style guidelines. Quite well, but not world class. Just slightly muddy to be top notch. Sterk ams

Dunkler, brotig malziger Beginn. Wenig alkoholisch, Roggenbrot, wenig Schokolade. Geringe Herbe, leicht ansteigende Süße, eher trocken. Unsüffig, ansteigende Aromatik, alles aber harmonisch. Langer, würzig malziger Abgang. 9/10/11/10/12/10

On tap at Haandgemeng. It pours an almost clear body, brown to amber in color, with a small beige head on top. Some curtains. The aroma has roasted malts, bread crust, hints of coffee and caramel, some alcohol and just a touch of hops. It's full-bodied, smooth and nicely carbonated, rather sweet, with mostly malty flavors. Some alcohol warmth too. Roasted malts, bread, some caramel and a touch of burnt malts in the flavor, turning towards raisin and cocoa towards the very end. Was expecting more hops in this one, since the festival poster said it should be an American style Barley Wine, but I don't care, it was really pleasant anyway. 171027
