Bottle from BiervanEijk, Steenwijk. Aroma is spicy with cinnamon, soft chipotle, cocoa, roasted malt, oloroso sherry, dark chocolate, fruity notes. Flavour is medium sweet and mild bitter with a little alcohol in the finish. Full body. Very tasty.

Bottle. I've had the non BA version nearly two years ago. As far as I know, BA versions almost everytime have equal or more alcohol, in this case the ABV according to the labels has dropped from 14,0 to 12.8%... Seems rather strange to me. So... The non BA version was ok but didn't have a wow factor for me. I've had a couple of really nice Oloroso Sherry BA Imperial Stouts before, so I'm .curious wether there is any imapprovement. Color: Pitch black, immediately disappearing thin brown head. Aroma: Dark chocolate, spicy, sweetish, fruity hints, roasted malt, Taste: Sweetish, roasted malt, spicy, peppery, earthy, subtle fruity Sherry, dark chocolate and caramel fudge, cinnamon and spicy finish. Dry-ish. Full body, low carbonation. Starting medium sweet, going to above average sweet. Sticky mouthfeel. Light to moderate bitterness. Hard to describe the differences without comparing side by side, but I do think the Oloroso BA added a little complexity. Quite nice.
