De naam van het tweede bier, Tommy, is een bijnaam voor Britse militairen. Zij danken die bijnaam onder andere aan de uitspraak van ene Thomas, een soldaat die zwaargewond raakte bij de veldslag in 1794 bij Boxtel. Tommy’s laatste woorden waren: “Geeft niks, dit hoort er nu eenmaal bij”. Sinds die tijd worden Britse militairen “Tommy” genoemd vanwege hun optimisme en moed.

Bottle. Color: Slightly hazy golden, white head. Aroma: Flowery, hints of honey. Taste: Floral, flowery, malty, hints of honey. Lightly sour, sweet and bitter. Yeasty hints. Buttery hints. Unusual taste for a blond. Just under medium body, just below average carbonation. Nice try, but just not my kind of beer. Very nice initiative but our liberators deserve better in my opinion. Hopefully the other two beers of this packet Vier de vrede, proef de vrijheid are more interesting.
