German Style Pils … pours light golden in color with a fluffy white head. True to style, it is brewed using European Pilsner & CaraPils malts resulting in just enough body to balance the hoppiness.

Our German style Pils is brewed with European Pilsner malt using a traditional step infusion mash. During the boil it is hopped using German Tettanang & Spalt Select. After the boil it rests in our copper Coolship for one hour and is then transferred over our baudelot cooler. It undergoes a cool open fermentation for 9 days using a classic Pilsner yeast. It is cellared cold for several months prior to packaging.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: clear yellow in color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: clean biscuity/bready malts with floral and grassy hops
Flavor: blends the previously noted aromas to a fine sweet to hoppy sweet quality; finishes malty to semi-floral sweet
Texture: light bodied, sessionable; pretty smooth along the tongue
Overall: a nicely done lager I would have again, and I believe leans towards the German side, I think...yes, a German one.

Can, undated, drunk 2/22/24. Clear bronze-brass-golden. Small-to-medium, white head, moderate-to-strong retention. Grassy, lightly floral nose with biscuity malts dabbed with traces of honey. There's a big earthiness, almost a light cellar mustiness that I must admit I love, despite it probably not really belonging in a pilsner (though, who the hell cares, honestly). Must be coolship-derived. Maybe a bit grassy, as well, but it's clean, malty and interesting. Sharp grass and a surprisingly thin body with an almost wheat-like nuttiness and huge biscuit notes. The earthy/mustiness is there, as well. There's a bit of reprieve of malt on the finish, but the thin biscuit and sharp grass up front really puts a damper on the whole thing. Maybe let's get this thing decoction mashed and then close-fermented after the coolship step, and maybe ease off on the bittering addition of the hops. Man, even onceblind gave this thing a 3.5!

Pours slightly hazed yellow into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Hay aromas. Crisp with lemon meringue and straw upfront turning to herbal tea in the dry, medium length finish.
