Black with a medium sized foamy brown head. Cocoa and peanut notes. Long finish. Medium body.

16 ounce can. My 50th Ommegang rating. Barely translucent cola brown color. Frothy tan head. Aromas of chocolate and peanut butter. A bit thin for a stout. Flavors of chocolate and peanut butter are there, but this lacks body and substance. Not sure why Ommegang is making a beer like this when their pedigree is so much more. Disappointing.

Aromas are peanut butter, dark malt, minerals and hints of cocoa and vanilla. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, peanuts fall off and neutral sweet dominates. Okay body and decent carbonation. Not bad, nothing special.

Chocolate, peanut butter, and berry on the front, with a lingering PB nuttiness on the finish, along with vanilla and a mild cloying sweet note. Thin body feels cheap. Not great.

Pours deep ebony into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Peanut butter and vanilla aromas. Medium bodied with sweet peanut butter, vanilla and whipped cream upfront turning to earthy, dried cocoa and toasted sourdough brown bread in the lasting finish.

Can (best by 1/28/23) pour from Beer and Wine Nation. It's an opaque black with finger-width beige head quickly fading to a ring and trace lacing. Aroma is strong peanut butter, milk chocolate and vanilla. Taste is strong peanut butter, vanilla, milder milk chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, it's as advertised and executed well but nothing really seems to pop. Good but not special for the style.
