Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours clear dark brown with a large creamy tan head that foamed away. Aroma of dark malt and chocolate. Med body or so. Flavor is dark malt, sort of Tmavy, with chocolate. Dry. Malty. Bitter. Quite clean.

Poured from a 32 oz crowler. Aroma is nice and roast forward with slightly lighter chocolate notes and toasted bread. Hints of caramel and toffee. Faint alcohol spice and hints of dark fruit. Pours black with a medium large, moderately thick, light brown head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers on the edges. Faint lacing and legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with moderately strong chocolate and roast notes. Lighter toasted bread, hints of caramel and toffee. Medium bitterness and hints of alcohol spice. Hints of raisin and dark fruits. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. A bit of a crisp finish with faint astringency and a hint of alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice schwarzbier with a decent crushability. Nice malt profile and a clean fermentation. Easy drinking.
