Belgian-Style Ale

Pilsner malt, flaked wheat and oats form the base of this beer. Hopping with Brewers Gold, Savinjski Goldings, and Chinook compliment the Grains of Paradise added late in the boil. A cool fermentation lets all of the ingredients shine – the result: a soft, fruity, fluffy and delicious rendition of a Saison.

330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7%. Brewed with grains of paradise. Hazy deep golden to orange colour, moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Distinctly yeasty aroma, some fruity and spicy notes, could be better. Moderately sweet and quite spicy / peppery flavour, also distinct bittering hops.

Bittersweet fruity ending. Good depth. Good drinking. (Watching world cup football between Iran and Spain on TV, Tromsø 20.06.2018).

Flaske fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Drukket på Bergstua. Varm gylden. Nesten klar. Lavt tett skum som daler raskt. Bra aroma av mørke frukter & krydder. Smaken banan krydder. Syrlig & tørr etter hvert. Litt bunnfall igjen på flaska.

Bottle from Better Foods, Bristol. Golden in colour, with a slight haze and billowy white head. Aroma of floral hops, lemons and yeasty grains. Flavour had white bread, tangerine and peach fruit, some barnyard character and led to a dryish finish. A pleasant saison.
