16 oz can from Total Wine - Las Vegas. Pours a pitch black color and root beer colored highlights and a small beige head with fair retention. Almost no lacing. Dark malt and light coffee aroma. The flavor is very dark roasted, almost charred, with a short, slightly metallic finish. Simple profile and easy drinking except for the finish. Almost really good.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear dark amber brown with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of dark grain and bread with a hint of sweetness underlying. Flavor has earthy bread and dark grains with a hint of roast supporting.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours clear dark brown with a lacing beige head. Aroma of dark toffee. Near med body. Flavor is dark toffee/malt with some bitterness like that of coffee. Dryish. Very lightly tart. Definitely bitter.

From a pint can. Pours a clear cola with a tan head. Aromas of aged leather. Flavors are sweet toffee with a slight bitter roast.
