2022 versie (wederom: alsof er een andere versie bestaat, nou ja, dat kan nog komen natuurlijk). Vrijwel zwarte body en licht beige schuim met maar weinig retentie. Geur is zoetig, geroosterd, iets umami, boozy, whiskey. Retronasaal: zoetig, zoete chocola, iets boozy, wat geroosterd. Smaak is zoetig tot zoet, chocola. Mondgevoel is wat dunnetjes, had iets voller gemogen. Prima koolzuur, warmende alcohol. Smaak blijft nog even hangen.

Bottle at home. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium sized light brown colored head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma and flavor are malts, roasted malts, chocolate, sweetish a bit, whiskey, chocolate bitters as well, distant liquorice. Pleasant quite full body, velvety texture, soft carbonation. Lovely beer.

Almost black beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has chocolate, liquorice, dark dried fruits. Taste has dried fruits, chocolate, light lactose and confection. Medium+ bodied. Dessert like beer, but much more balanced than many pastry stouts. Good beer and surprisingly drinkable.

Bottle bought at Beer Republic. Dark brown with a small head. Bourbon, chocolate, mild dried fruit and oak. Warming notes in the finish.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight, transient tan head. Aroma of rye, chocolate and burnt malt. Not harsh. Arguably full bodied, tho it thins quickly. Flavor is rye, whiskey, chocolate, lactose and burnt malt. Not dry, but far from sticky. Bitter from rye, burnt malt and heat. Heat is just a flavor. A way too easy drinker. Good flavor.
