13.2 ABV. 2024 version. Big and bold, but maintains a nice malt tone, not unlike a monstrous Wee Heavy or Wheat Wine. Deep, rich, the barrel tone is incorporated well. Big, heavy, good.

Very dark brown with a small head. Strong whiskey, caramel, malt and rye. Long finish. Moderately full bodied

Pours deep murky mahogany into a tulip. Pancake head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Hot molasses and rye aromas. Thick with sweet hot caramel, hot rye and hot earthy pumpernickel front to back. Warm, lasting caramel finish.

Toffee, leather. Oak barrel is pretty well integrated here. Or at least the beer is big enough to absorb the whiskey flavour without losing the beer. Tangerine, lemon peel. Dark amber pour with decent head. Bitter, boozy and tangy finish. Bottle.

Bottle at BBT 6/2023. Med-thin body, surprising at this ABV, med-high carbonation, pleasant. Medium sweetness, molasses, a bit of toffee. Medium alcoholic warmth, soft, pleasant. Light bitterness. Malt-centered, even relatively easy drinking considering the ABV. Could use more richness and intensity, but overall tasty and quite good.

Bottle at BBT 6/2023. Hazy brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of rye, chocolate, light bread, wood, vanilla. Taste is rye, dark malt, alcohol, too much alcohol. I know 12%, but still too much alcohol.

Bottle at BBT. Malty aroma and taste, roastyness, rye, ligbt caramel, light sweet, medium bitter. Full body, malty roasty bitter sweet finish. Good.
