250ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with ruby glimmer and small, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, burnt caramel, Bourbon, vanilla, minimally tannic, oaky overtones. Taste is dry, tart-ish, tannic oaky and caramel and dark malty, hints of green wood, sorrel, malt lozenge, caramel, burnt caramel, some Bourbon, a touch of vanilla. So far the best Pilot Brew - sadly the tannic parts gain more (and eventually too much) weight with time.

Thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Bottle looks interesting, not easy to find out the right version. Deep black in the glass, almost no head. Heavy malty and roasty aroma. Starts intense malty, roasty, earthy, quite stouty, unusual for a doppelbock. Finish dry-malty, light roasty-sourish with coffee hints. Interesting.

Bottle shared @ Koelschtrinker's place. Intense roasted woody nose. The beer starts smooth with a sourish back. Lots of wood there with bourbon, but the beer tastes turned bad. Sourish with cherry hints, the body is dry and intense with a fantastic woody bourbon opposite to the woody bourbon back Interesting.

Gut. 10/9/10/11//10

0,25 l bottle purchased moons ago at the brewery. Pours out pitch black, small fast fading dark beige head. Fruity alcoholic smell. Taste is alcoholic, whiskey, barrel wood, fruity, some vanilla, some bitterness. Oily palate. Low to zero carbonation. You get what you expect.
