Rich, malty sweetness, deep flavors of molasses, caramel, and dark fruit that finish with an herbal and earthy mineral quality. Often referred to as “liquid bread,” we brewed ours in honor of the legend of the Wawel Castle in Krakow, Poland.

Treacle, candied pecan nose. Clear rust, medium yellow head. Elderberry, a bit vegetal. Medium body, easy carbonation. A bit fruity for the style.

16oz can. 2024 version, 7.8%. Luscious, World Class stuff. Very reminiscent of Celebrator. Phenomenal stuff, doesn't get much better. Awesome brown chocolate malt depth. World Class and then some.

Draft at Goldfinger. Deep brown color with an inch thick tan head sitting like a parfait topping. The smell of mashed roasty grains permeates the tap room anyway, but it's definitely stronger near the glass. But it's not overpowering, which is nice. Taste is a bit creamy as strong lagers go. The roast is still forward on this. Conterbalanced by some spicy German hops. Sweetness of fruits, molasses and treacle. Leaves some stickiness on the lips. This is a little thicker than the average American-made doppel, but everything is in good balance, and it's a good pre-Lent beer for the severe cold we're having right now. It's Goldfinger's version of a winter stout.
