There are a couple of moments which make a perfect time to open The Carpet’s On Fire. Firstly, right at the start of the movie, with the early morning shots of Venice Beach when you first see Harrelson’s character lay down on the court and fall asleep – think about the relentless LA Heat kicking in while savouring the crisp bitterness of the Chinook hop. If you’d rather enjoy some of the film first, wait until around the one-hour mark and crack it open during the Slow Mo basketball tournament action.

440ml can. Clear amber, off-white head. Aroma of caramel/toffee malts, pine. Taste starts with sweet caramel/toffee malts, pine, grapefruit, light earthy, hops giving it a very strong bitter finish despite the initial sweetness. Medium bodied. Solid westie but not my fave from FS.

Can on the Central Scotland & Fife Push-Pull tour with 712 and friends, thanks to the Wingmane, 05/10/24. Golden amber topped with an off white cap that thins to the edge. Nose is caramel malts, orange, airy malts, grass, old skool vibes. Taste comprises bitter orange, grapefruit, pine needle, grass, bubblegum. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with lightly aggressive hop bitterness. Not bad.
