Bowmore is een Schotse Islay single malt Whisky met een vleugje rook. De vaten waren net geleegd in Schotland en op de bodem zat nog een klein beetje Whisky toen we de WNTR hierop hebben gelegd. De rijping van enkele maanden bij gecontroleerde temperatuur heeft er vervolgens voor gezorgd dat de geweldige Whisky en hout tonen aan de Rigters WNTR zijn toegevoegd.

Bottle from Stanislaus Brewskovitch, Zwolle. Aroma is dark malt with peat, wood, whiskey, mild iodine, and a hint of chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is medium, which is insufficient relative to the aroma. Kinda nice, but this really needed a bigger flavour and body.

Bottle [from trade with RW80] @ home. Unclear opaque dark amber color, medium sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, sweetish, mostly the winter beer in the flavor and not much bowmore. Full body though and suitable average carbonation.

Shared with Beerhunter111 and Koelschtrinker. The beer starts sharp and malty with lots of woody whisky there. Somehow round and unbalanced, boozy hints with tons of flavours that are hard to separate. Strange ad sad.

Bottle shared at THT March, thanks to Bierkoning for the bottle. Almost clear amber with beige head. Peat, light hay, toffee, caramel, goat, tea, more peat. Medium sweet and quite bitter. Over medium bodied. Way too much peat and barrel notes here, not much left of the actual beer. Don’t like it.

7 3 6 3 12 Bottle shared at THT March ‘18 (The Elephant Seal Edition). Clear amber brown with a ring off white head. Aroma of peat, malt, caramel and iodine. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with alcohol warmth and soft carbonation.
