The name is inspired by the Hafgufa a mythological sea monster described in the Norse Saga of Örvar-Oddr from the 14th century.
"It is the nature of the Hafgufa to swallow men and ships, and even whales and everything else within its reach."
A fitting name for such a flavorful beer!
Released to celebrate our 5 year anniversary.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, port barrel, oak, touch of salty liquorice, red fruits. Flavour is fairly bitter and light sweet. Above medium body. Like the base beer bitter, roasty, coffee, with pleasant balanced notes of port.

Van fles bij NHBF ‘24. Zwarte kleur, beige-bruine kraag.

Very dark brown with lasting lacy head. Yes, jammy red fruit sweetness in aroma and flavour. Background roasted malt and coffee. Bitter green hop.
