Haven't been back in a year. Really just came back for the champagne barleywine. Half pint. Clear, dark amber, extra frothy. Sticky honey with a flabby faint citrus. Sweet & sticky caramel. Mellow earthy bitterness, a touch of glue. Too one-sided.

A 12 oz can received as a gift in a six pack mixer. I like the label, somewhat classy for an amber, which informs of a 7.4% abv, no question. I tilt the can into a snifter and determine a darkish, orange-amber liquid with a representative skim of light tan foam. The scent is grain and malt, the usual. A drink now, not bad for the style. Whole grain bread, caramel, malt and a bit of hard candy. A fuller sensation than other ambers, maybe because of the somewhat higher abv. To me, a better than average brew for a pedestrian style.

Blik gedeelt door KoenvD, geprobeerd met Roelzie1986. Het is een donker amberkleurig bier met een dun schuim. Het heeft een frambozen achtige geur. De smaak is moutig, wat metaalachtig en wat jeneverbes achtig.
