Half-pint, cask ale served in a mug at United Brethren in Chelmsford. Dark brown body. Bubbly ring to the rim of the glass. Dotted spots on the glass. Mild caramel nose, hints of dried fruits. Bread, wood and dried fruity flavours. Spiced bitter ending. Satisfying (Shared with Cunningham 19.02.2017).

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Clear amber beer, no head. Palate is smooth, semi dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Tangy malts, some dark character. Rye like spicy vibe. Rich fruits. Light dry finish. Not bad.

Cask-conditioned at the Lord High Constable of England (JDW), Gloucester docks, July 2016. Medium brown in colour, with a reddish tinge a slight, off-white, head. Pleasant beer with red berry fruits, chocolate, bready malts and hint of leafy hops, ending in a decent, toasty, finish. Enjoyable.
