16 ounce can into snifter, canned on 4/4/2017. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger fairly dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, coconut, macadamia nuts, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, molasses, marshmallow, fudge, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, tobacco, pepper, and roast/toast/smokey earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, coffee, coconut, macadamia nuts, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, coconut, macadamia nuts, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of vanilla, molasses, marshmallow, fudge, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, tobacco, pepper, and roast/toast/smokey earthiness. Very mild herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, coconut, macadamia nuts, toasted dark/brown bread, molasses, vanilla, fudge, light licorice/dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and roast/toast/smokey earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, coffee, coconut, macadamia nuts, and light earthy hop flavors; with an awesome roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no acrid/astringent flavors lingering after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very creamy, silky, and velvety mouthfeel that is fantastic. Light slickness, sticky hops, and chalky char/roast. Mildly increasing warmth of 10.9% after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic flavored imperial stout! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, coffee, coconut, macadamia nuts, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Amazingly rich and decadent malt complexity; with awesome balance of fruity/nutty coffee, coconut, and macadamia nuts. Never overly bitter, roasty, or drying for the style. A highly enjoyable offering.

Tasting @ Koelschtrinker. Deep roasted thick rich beginning. Lots of roast, burned malt and nuts. Coconuts there, macadamia probably. Oily texture, intense black - in colour and taste. Burned grain and nuts there, long deep black roasted aftertaste. Nice dry coffee burned nutty aftertaste. Interesting and great in one.
