On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - dark chocolate and booze. Then raisins going into dates. Date loaf. Taste - dates and figs. Mince pie ingredients. Palate - rich and full bodied. So much booze. It struggles to cleanse the palate. Overall - very booze dominated. Too much and imbalanced.

A black beer, a head is mediu and dark brown, quickly decreasing. Aroma has chocolate, roastiness of coffee, sweetness at least with dark and dried fruits, liquorice, hint of alcohol. Taste has roastiness of coffee, low chocolate, balanced sweetness that's not so strong as in the aroma, dark fruits, wood. Full bodied, smooth. Tasteful beer, but not so huge as many of Boris versions.
