65 cl bottle @ St Mary's Park, BBE 31.12.2020 ABV 9.4%, vintage 2016? Aroma is odd and somewhat mild with chlorine and licorice. Flavour has cocoa, semi-dark chocolate, bourbon, liquor and alcohol. Also moldy cellar tones. Strong, chocolatey and not-that-drinkable but a working slow sipper. This one was perhaps a bit too old.

Pitch black pour with a thin dark tan head. Notes of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, licorice, molasses, a bit of whiskey, dark cherry chocolate, a bit of coffee. No crazy adjuncts, no dominating flavours, just a perfectly balanced, dark and intense imperial stout. I love Hoppin' Frog.
