On tap at the brewery. This entry needs to be split. I just spoke with the new brewer. They put this on a couple months ago and it is the first time that this recipe has been on since Kirk McHale left. This new batch is a 100% different recipe (hop and malt bill) according to the new brewer and can be identified by it being only 8%. Pours with a hazy golden body and a thick white head. Aroma is floral, citrus hops, tropical fruit and light caramel. Pretty darn good. Taste is caramel, straw, bitter, dry and fruity. Maybe it has been on for a bit too long, or maybe not enough dry hopping, but the flavor didn’t "pop" as much as I was expecting/hoping it would. Super dry and bitter finish. Lively and dry mouthfeel. Would liked to have tried Mr. McHale’s version.

Cloudy golden towards amber with a medium off white and creamy head. Aroma was packed with grapefruity hops, pine and light toasted malt. Flavor had loads of hops, pine, grapefruits, pale malts and lemons. Bone dry and rediciously bitter. If only most double IPA’s would be dry like this. Lovely.

Draft, The Bistro, DIPA Festival. This was one of my favorite beers at the festival and a real surprise from a brewery that was completely new to me. This beer has an enormous, sweet citric hop aroma. Oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, mangoes and peaches are big and bright. The malt is nice and dry, providing just enough sweetness to let the hops shine. The flavor was wonderfully clean. I tried it toward the end of my day at the festival and it stood out easily despite some steep competition. It was probably my number two beer of the day, only after Pliny the Younger. Excellent beer. I hope to see more from this brewery.
