Cask at the Clapton Hart - Hackney, London. Pours mostly clear brown with a thick, tan foam head. The nose has a bit of roast, toasty bread, ash. Light sweet flavor with further ash, torched earthy bitterness, faint cocoa. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. More ashy roast on the finish, burnt toast, earth, old leather, charred meat. OK overall.

Cask at the NWAF, Derby ’14. Dark reddish-brown pour with a beige head. Earthy, chocolatey aroma. Flavours of licorice and quite a heavy malt presence. Malty finish. Not bad.
