Pint can, 2020 vintage. Rich roasted malt aroma with notes of dark chocolate, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, bourbon, oak and vanilla. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has little retention or lacing. Starts with roasted malt, dark chocolate, molasses and oak flavors as well as having a rich, full body and slick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes quite smooth with licorice, dark fruit, bourbon and vanilla flavors. Still quite excellent after 5+ years!

Pint can from Wine Cellar Depere, 5/13/21. Black, large frothy brown head, good retention. Aroma of vanilla, whiskey, chocolate, plum. Taste is booze, roast, chocolate, oak, mild whiskey. Full bodied, sort of but a bit thin for the style. Slick, booze present. Decent, but could use more body and some other tweaking.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate with bourbon/vanilla notes. Full bodied or close. Flavor is chocolate malt, mild heat, bourbon and wood. A bit dusty in texture. Almost like scharzbier gone imperial. Relatively dry, mildly bittter. Quite tasty. Some whiskey in the finish.
