500mL bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is full of intense scotch whiskey barrels, big roast, iodine, and a touch of dark sugars. Flavour has huge iodine from the scotch barrels, with medium roast, a touch of soy sauce, and big roast. A bit too much iodine and almost a tart soy sauce character, but has good malt depth and some nice barrel character.

2020 bottle. Not sure if it’s age or the recipe, but this pint has taken on loads of prune and vinous notes, with underlying veins of chocolate and anise. Scotch-barrel aging seems to have faded; mostly what we’re getting is fresh and dried fruit. One guy thought it was a really old Belgian quad. I guess three years was too long in the cellar.
