Can at the Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes before the Dollyrots gig. The Dollyrots were great, but were outdone by one of their support acts, the excellent Danny Gruff, who was so good that I bought his CD on the spot. Sadly this beer didn't live up to the music - it's a big standard thin fizzy golden beer that tastes of dusty metal up front, with butter and a touch of lemon to follow in a very short finish with no aftertaste. This is poor, but I was happy to drink it in the knowledge that it's raising money to support great small music venues like this one.

Didn't spot the lager on entering The Gladstone Arms, Borough. Mild panic. But the owner points to the rebadged House lager, which comes in a Fightback branded glass. Aroma is low key, malts, citrus and yeast. Clear dark gold. Foamy white head. Light bitter and a greater citrus sour edge, which ultimately ends up quite metallic. Underlying malts. Light. Watery. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Typical industrial lager, if not sweet. Wonder who brews it? But a brewery tick.
