Beer number eighteen at the Great British Winter Beer Festival 2025. Last one , strongest one sampled, quite boozy but chocolate dominates its aftertaste and there's a smoothness to its texture.

1/3 cask pour at GBBF Winter. Creamy dark brown pour, ring of beige head. Boozy aroma hits first, bourbon with sweet roasty malts and notes of chocolate. Taste gets really roasty, light smoky flavors, woody, chocolate. Nice big syrupy stout.

Bottle ordered from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Aroma has sweet dark fruit and molasses, with a tar streak. Dark and glossy. Beige head soon just forms a thin ring. Heavy bitter - tar, liquorice and wood. Underlying molasses and dark fruit add some sweetness. However it's the bitterness that is prominent throughout. Medium bodied at best. Thin creaminess. Average carbonation. Long astringent finish. Bitter Impy. Was hoping for something more interesting.
