The Pompey Pals’ Ale is a hand crafted real ale brewed by Vic at the Cerne Abbas Brewery. Vic describes the beer as ‘a light coloured ale that may entice lager drinkers. It’s something a little fruity, but not too hoppy and above all easy to drink.

Fifty pence of each bottle sold (£6 per case) will be donated to Portsmouth Football Club’s Pompey Pals project, a registered charity dedicated to promoting awareness of the role men from the city played in the Great War, notably the ‘Pals’ battalion formed in the city.

Bottle from a Co-op in Southsea. Aroma combines fruit and caramel. Pale gold. Thin bubbly translucent white head. Medium bitter. Big juicy streak provides some sourness and fruit syrup sweetness. Underlying malts. The sourness provide a final kick. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Like 99% of UK beet it's been added to another site ad Pale Ale - English. I was thinking Golden Ale. However it is petty hoppy and plays on its paleness so went with Pale Ale. It's fine.
