Cask at the Waterloo Tap. Pours clear but darkly ruddy with orange glints and a tan head. Aroma makes me think of citrons. Odd that. Medium body. Flavor is malty in a “pastry” way. I’m looking for Xmas spice- not sure it’s there. Not very dry, Decently bitter. In the USA reds are usually amberish. Not in this case tho. For me this is a quite different sort of ale flavor, but I’m enjoying it. Very flavorful for such a low ABV.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Old Street, London, 25 Nov 2017) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, red fruit and a touch of raspberries. Malty, slightly roasted nose with notes of dark bread, red fruit, chocolate, caramel and a mild, slightly earthy, bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

Cask at the Waterloo tap. A mid amber brown coloured pour with a loose white head . Aroma is rustic grains, nutty, liquorice, soapy.. Flavour is composed of course nutty malts, sweet brown sugars, tangy twig, liquorice. Palate is medium sweet, moderate cask condition. Ok. Some lingering dried fruits.
