Continuing our explorations back in time when everything had a cable and styles like American Brown Ale were all the rage! A brown ale with loads of complex malt, blanaced fruity hop character and a crisp finish.

Can ordered from Twisted Crow, Basingstoke. Aroma combined herbs and pine with burnt caramel and dark chocolate. Opaque and very dark brown. Lasting foamy off-white head. An initial bitter hit with a dose of citrus sourness. In fact the bitterness and sourness are there for the duration. There's then a underlying caramel and dark chocolate which remains submerge until it float up into the finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. Decent if not blowing me away.
