Experimental #59 is a collaboration with our long time friends at Escarpment Labs. They recently released a new thiol-enhanced yeast strain called Superfrog so we thought we’d test it out. We decided to pair it with HS16660, a new hop variety from Hopsteiner’s breeding program, that is extremely high in thiol precursors to work hand in hand with this yeast strain.

Hazy, pale, thin head. Brighter hop notes, thiols come through as floral notes, light stone fruit.

On tap at brewery. Pours murky yellow with a white head. Aroma is dank, some pine, and citrus peel. Flavour has pine, dankness, grapefruit. Minimal chalk, nice body. Pretty solid.

Poured from the tap @ Superflux. Hazy gold with minimal white head. Tons of juicy orange citrus notes with a touch of hop burn on the finish. Decent.
