Dull and hazy, thin head. Big syrupy barrel nose, full malty body, decent bitterness. Some rich sugars from the barrel…well this is the first time I’ve had a beer aged in Okanagan Spirits barrels that wasn’t a hot boozy mess…Dag can do anything.

Poured from 375mL bottle (from 12 days of Xmas box; bottled Nov 07, 2024). Chill hazed dull brownish gold with small off white head. Aroma is just whiskey barrel, taste is dominated by the whiskey with some feint vanilla notes, the Belgian esters and original goodness of Antigoon mostly disappears, quite boozy. Overall, the original non-barrel aged Antigoon is much better. If they used some better whiskey barrels, maybe this would improve, but ultimately Okanagan whiskey detracts from the original Antigoon. Not taking original Antigoon into account, it's still an okay beer.

100ml. Appearance: hazy golden with a white head. Aroma: American oak, sweetness, bold, Belgian esters, oak creaminess. Taste: fruity, bold, lots of oak, boozy, creamy, Belgian characters. Finishes with oak creamy notes. Overall: pretty good.

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy, dull blond colour. Strong spirit aroma, with floral accents. Full bodied, sweet, the Antigoon base is still present here, but also dominated by the strong whiskey character, strong alcohol; peppery, light fennel. Good. Fun experiment, the regular Antigoon is easier to drink though.

On tap at Dageraad, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by the whiskey barrels theres a bit of a perfumey character to it with light spiciness squeaking through. Flavour is strong, with a strong perfumey character from the whiskey, strong and somewhat chaotic esters, and spiciness from the yeast. Too perfumey and ultimately chaotic. This is messy and uncoordinated.

100mL pour at brewery. Pours murky dirty blonde with white head. Aroma has lots of whiskey barrels, light coriander. Flavour has very strong whiskey, coriander, golden raisins. Whiskey is way too strong, but the base beer is solid.
