Biotransformed double IPA with Galaxy, Nelson, and Sultana
Bridging the gap between big tropical fruit and piney dankness, New Slang 7 packs a lot of oomph into its golden waves. It’s hopped with Galaxy, Nelson, and Sultana for an oh-so-tasty (and oh-so-IPA) combo of pineapple, citrus and resin. It’s a bit of a beast, but we’ve made it with balance in mind, so we’re confident you’ll tame it.

Dullish pale. Hazy. Fruity aroma. On the palate, weak malts and low bitterness fail to provide adequate structure for fruity, slightly floral hop expression. So there is some good here, but it goes wasted because of the substandard fermentation. Certainly substandard for Dageraad.

Pale yellow, cloudy. The aroma is fruity, a bit dank. The mouthfeel is weak, the character from the biotransformation seems strong, the yeast introduces fruity elements; it's mineral, salty. Ok beer.

On tap at The Magnet, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is quite fruity, with a sort of perfumey, floral hop character, lighter stone fruits, and melon — seems quite yeast-driven. Flavour is much the same, with floral hops, melon, stone fruit, alcohol, and perfumey yeast. I've never been a fan of this series, but this one is above average for the series. I want this to be more hop-driven than yeast-driven. Alright.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 24/10/22). Hazy dull yellow with small white head. Subdued tropical hops, has a dry grapefruit pithiness on the finish. Everything is a bit dull, what I have come to expect of the New Slang series.

100ml. Appearance: hazy straw with a white head. Aroma: tropical fruits, some honey and flowers. Taste: along the same lines, crispy. Finishes with noticeable hoppy bitterness. Overall: good.

100mL pour at brewery. Pours murky blonde with white head. Aroma has mango, tangy berries, and white wine grapes. Flavour is a bit dirtier, more pith and bitter fruit skins, though the notes from the aroma are still there. Maybe some hop burn? Overall pretty good, but hop expression leaves something to be desired.
