Hazy pale, no head, there’s a mellow brett note…malt seems a bit weaker than it usually is, and there’s a light floral note. Touch of spiciness, mild bitterness. Mittelfrüh has been one of my favourite hops since the early days of Sam Adams and here it comes through in a unique way.

On tap at Fair Isle, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma has a nice tangy, melony hop character upfront, with rustic saison yeast, and gentle floral notes. Flavour is complex and vibrant, with rustic saison yeast, wild bugs, and bright tangy hops. Beautiful balance and expression of the yeast. Excellent.

Quite farmhousy with some nice spicy and flowery characters. Taste is along the same lines, nicely balanced and refreshing. Nice one.

Draft pour to a tulip at Tapped, Mill Creek. Somewhat cloudy pale golden pour, thin head. Really refreshing saison, tart lemon and grassy notes, moderately dry. A touch of funk on the nose, with some soaker straw grains as well. Cool with a bite. This doesn't scream fresh hops but it doesn't have to. It's a solid product all around. Very enjoyable saison.
