On a six sample flight in the Old Stove brewery at Pike Place on 10th August 2025. Black bodied, tanned wisp and collar on top. Coffee and coconut front to the aroma and taste, everything got better as it warmed in the late evening sun.

4oz pour at Ballard location. Pours black with beige head. Aroma has gentle roasted malt. Flavour has roasted malts as well; not getting any of the vanilla or coconut. Fairly uninteresting.

On tap at Old Stove - Gardens, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is much like the Dark Passage—has a robust, woody roasted malt base—accentuated by subtle cocoa and vanilla that are not that prominent. Flavour is much more expressive on the adjuncts: there's a boatload of coconut, followed by subtle cocoa and vanilla, undergirded by a solid roasted malt base. Real nice coconut character. Excellent non-diabetes pastry stout.

(Tap) clear, bright, very dark brown colour with a small brown head; aroma of semi-sweet chocolate; smooth palate; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter finish

16oz can pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is chocolate rich roast some light coconut. Taste is more of the nice chocolate coconut kick and a roast on the end.
