Bière des Charentes is a mixed fermentation blend featuring unique characteristics imparted by a 24 month fermentation in Cognac barrels. These barrels originated in the Charente region of France where Cognac is made. The result is a blend focused on the bright fruit notes of brandy, with savoury leather and saline character. It finishes with drying tannins and subtle fennel notes, highlighted by a balanced medium acidity.

Cloudy, thin head. Soft body. It's got a vinous, pear-like character, with curranty accents. Excellent.

Bottle pour at FHF 2024, pours a cloudy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma is rather musty, with plenty musty grape skins, and some oak. Flavour is funky, with lots of white wine grape skins, a touch of stone fruits, and oak. Funky, oaky, and effervescent finish. Excellent.
