A few months ago we teamed up with our good friends Emperor's Brewery to brew up a new take on a blast from the past homebrew recipe. This is Interstellar Hyperdrive. A 12% imperial Rum Raisin porter. Brewed with a carefully selected malt bill combined with honey and muscovado sugar and aged on Rum soaked raisins and vanilla for months, this beast is dessert in a glass.
Only two 20L kegs of this beer exist and will be exclusively available Independent Manchester Beer Convention on the thirsty games bar and later in October at the keykeg bar at Nottingham Beer Festival. Get it while you can. This one is not to be missed.

Cask @ Nottingham Beer Festival. No head. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich rum, roast malt, wood, caramel, fruits and has a warming finish. A bit too boozy.

Keg @ Nottingham Beer and Cider Festival. Black without head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, dried fruit and rum. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Sweet and rather bitter finish with heavy alcoho. Boozy. Oily and soft. 191018

Keg at IMBC 2018, session 2. Pours deep brown with a foamy, tan head. Rich, lots of gooey chocolate, dried berries, plum, raisins, digs. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, more sticky chocolate, modest ashy roast, alcohol, charcoal, dark fruits. Not bad.

Keg at IMBC. It pours opaque jet black with a small dark tan head. The aroma is earthy roast, sticky, rum and raisin ice cream, perfumed, fruit cake, spice, booze, toffee and dark fruits. The taste is slick, chewy, oily, crazy sweet, rum and raisin, boozy warmth, dried fruits, fruit cake, prune, date, varnish and coffee liqueur with a slick finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth feel. Very sweet indeed, but fun stuff.

Keg at indy man beer con. Session 2. A dark black coloured pour with a loose dark tan head. Aroma is big earthy dark roast, liquorice, treacle. Flavour is composed of waxed oak, pine, woody coconut, rum, raisin, medium sweet, plum jam. Palate is medium sweet, sticky, oily moderate carbonation. Little flabby. Not bad. Little banana notes.
