2010 sample at the Barrel House. The beer pours a hazy ruby red color with a medium pinkish-white head that evaporates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of oak, berries, and malt. Medium body with flavors of vinous oak, berries, earthy yeast and malt. The finish is tart with a blackberry and yeast aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Tap at the Barrel House - lightly hazy bright purplish red - zero head - nose of blackberry, plum, moderate acidity, light funkiness - a bit watery up front, but strong carbonation firms things up through the middle - flavor lacks complexity - mostly acidic, with notes of plastic/band-aid phenols, fruit is completely washed out by these - prickly, acidic finish - very light funkiness - meh.

On tap at Cascade Tasting Room, split with Matts_Property, pours a beautiful ruby red with a small white head. Aroma of sour blackberries, wheat and dry red wine qualities. Flavour of sharp, tart berries, citrus fruit pits and black currants, with a dry fruity tartness on the finish. Solid, though sharp.

A wine red ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, a superb sweet lactic berry with sweet wine, light Brett, very nice. In mouth, a nice kriek like ale with nice epsom salt, black currant, light but refreshing. Excellent. On tap at brewpub July 31 2011.

On tap at Sourfest. Pours with a vibrant, hazy purple to red body with a small white head. Aromas of berries, caramelization, balsamic vinegar, tannins, oak, red wine, bubble gum. Lots of fruity esters. Flavors of manure, chlorophenols, funk, berries. Not very bright. Funky, earthy, sour, berry juice, a bit watery. Thin, light bubbles, very dry, tannic and woody. While very tasty, not as good as I was expecting.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours purple/reddish/berry/copper with a creamy pinkish head. Medium body with foamy carbonation. It is definitely a sour (based on balck berry-12 months in oak - 6 months with berries). It is berry sour. There’s astringent oak. It’s wonderful.
