Sorachi Ace on alunperin 1970-luvulla Japanissa Sapporolle kehitetty humalalajike. Suurempaan huomioon se nousi vasta 2008. Sorachi Ace on lajikkeena intensiivisen sitruunainen, mutta tuo mukanaan myös kevyttä yrttimäisyyttä, mm. tilliä, korianteria, minttua ja teetä. Päätimme kokeilla, millaisen single hop ipan tästä saa aikaiseksi.

Tap at Konttori, Tampere. Color is very cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, some hops... Sorachi Ace very obvious but unbalanced watery body.

Smell of fruit. Opaque yellow-grey colour, white head. Aroma of raw fruit, then spruce, then juiciness. Light short flavours. Flat carbon. Light body. Dry palate.

Bottled 7.2.2022, 4 days old. A murky and light yellow beer, a head is medium and blond. Aroma has menthol, herbs, bubblegum. Taste has herbs, bubblegum, spicyness of menthol. Medium bodied. Interesting, this beer shows the unique elements of Sorachi Ace. This beer would need some other hops to shine.The fruitness together with Sorachi's flavour is usually working nicely. Nice pilot trying, which told me a lot of Sorachi Ace.
