2004 draught 12/04 at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with some barely perceptible burgundy/maroon tinges and a strong light tan head. Aroma is slightly weak, in retrospect, after drinking the beer. Some light caramel, sour yeast and prune notes. What the aroma lacks, is made up for by the flavor. Havent had a regular gravity beer this flavorful in a long time. Immediately washes the palate with sticky, chewy caramel, toffee, prunes, raisins, a touch of tobacco perhaps. Ends on a drier chocolate and yeast mix. Clean lager finish, a touch of thinning, that belies the huge flavor up front. Medium body, moderate carbonation, low hops apparency. I definitely had two pints of this while I was there.
