2004 draught @ the brewery. Pours a murky dark beige with light orange, brown and yellow colors all swirling about in what may be considered a glass of melted toffee. Small off-white head, very hazy. Aroma of butterscotch, alcohol, lightly sour yeast, almost spoiled peaches and some bubble gum esters for good measure. Flavor begins on a sweet, candied apple note, with plenty of caramel, toffee and butterscotch flavors. Some clove and bubble gum flavors on the finish, with no hops apparent. Yeast is not tremendously apparent, just the bubble gum esters it produces. Alcohol is too dominant on the finish, which is also quite watery. A medium, or perhaps slightly more than medium, body somewhat ameliorated by a very low level of filtration, which creates a good, gritty texture.
