2004 draught. Mostly clear, light straw colored beer, with a decent foamy white head and good lacing. Smells very dry, of alcohol, light paint thinner, spicy hops, and a bittersweet acidity. Reminds me of vanilla flavored vodka too. Flavor is immediately very dry and astringent. Lots of warming alcohol, some light grain-like malt flavors, but no real sweetness. Touch of spicy hops on the finish add a nice flavor, but there is no real balance here, and too much of a ethanol/paint thinner quality, perhaps from the yeast or perhaps wheat malt(reminds me of the wheat wine). Medium body does not improve as it warms, though some light sweetness does peak through. Strange beer here.
