AOBF 04. Bottle. After the disappointing braggot, I was hoping this would finally be my ticket to a good Magic Hat beer. Pour is fair enough, dark black with some dark chestnut browns. Small tan head, moderately fizzy, not altogether opaque. Aroma of light, dry bourbon, lots of alcohol, some cocoa mixed with molasses and brown sugar. Flavor is right away full of alcohol with a good amount of dry acidic bourbon flavors. Lots of alcohol stays on the palate and the whole time, the beer is VERY THIN, watery, loose. Maybe some hints of chocolate and black malt, but with this watery of a palate, it dosent really matter, it’s so god damned thin. Some smoke and maple, hints of light hops. I dont know what to think about this brewery anymore. My friend who also tried it aptly said "Magic Hat is cut off." We’ve never had a good beer from them.
